RIVERSIDE (CBSLA) The 2021 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival, February 12, 2021, has been canceled with the hope to continue, in 2022, the organizers announced Friday.
The Queen Scheherazade Scholarship Pageant is scheduled for January 2020, has been cancelled.
According to the organizers of the ongoing world-wide pandemic, the reason for the cancellation of all scheduled events at Riverside County Fairgrounds, and since it’s the middle of March.
The Riverside County Fairgrounds at this time is to be used as one of the county’s COVID-19 test locations.
Riverside County of-Public Health plan on the Federal Medical assistance until the end of the calendar year, to the left of the staff is not in a position to plan and execute the event, the organizers said.
“The Riverside County Fairgrounds are not only well-known to be the home of our master, the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival, but as a focal point and safe haven for the community when it comes to access to health care, and today it is being used in another health care mission to assist in the overcoming of the corona virus,” said the Chairman of the Board, and V. Manuel Pérez.
“It’s very rare that we say this, to be Honest, but we do know that the tradition is so strong and special for so many families, including my own, that we can look forward to the return after the completion of the mission.”
The Riverside County Fair advisory board Chair, Lupe Ramos-Amith added, “It was a tough decision to make to cancel, but with the uncertainty of how long the exhibition area will be used as a testing center, and back up to the hospital, but it was the one that had to be made. We look forward to seeing everyone at our 75th anniversary.”
