LONG BEACH (CBSLA) The area of drug enforcement agents said they are worried that the streets will be flooded with a new wave of stolen medicines to be taken by the looters during the recent protests against police brutality.
And on Tuesday, the Drug Enforcement Administration, said that it’s still taking messages from pharmacies, such as Luke and the free university of amsterdam, where the shops have been taken by looters at the end of the month.
“They knew what it was for the purpose of” the university said. “They know who to target, and they got in, they got out of it.”
Free university of amsterdam, which owns Ten pharmacies in Long Beach, said he was looking for the security of the images is in agony as looters broke into his store, and stole up to $30,000 of controlled substances, and destroy it in a few minutes, the Vu said it took him and his wife about a year to build it up.
“Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Norco, Xanax, you name it,” he said. “They took all of it.”
Vu’s pharmacy was one of at least 177 of the pharmacies in Los Angeles, and Riverside counties for the DEA, said the looters targeted during the recent protests.
The agents have said that they will only work with the pharmacist to make a full report of what has been taken into account.
“It’s a little bit scary,” Special Agent Bill Bodner said. “Well, I’ll be honest with you, and with over 500,000 doses of the missing, and nearly one-third of the reporting of some 500,000 doses of the missing on which are some pretty strong controlled substance.”
The DEA said it has taken note of the reports of the 54 pharmacies more than 100 pharmacies to to to to go. Bodner said the total amount is taken into account, and potentially may be destructive for the efforts have been focused on America’s opioid crisis.
“It’s a terrible thing, that, you know, a situation like this is for more of the medicine, which, as we have already had a kind of, sort of get a handle on at least the recipe part of the problem,” he said.
Bodner said that the illegal drug market is counterfeit drugs over the next three years, reducing the level of exposure to the real thing, it can be fatal.
“That’s kind of my fear is that people will buy these pills, not knowing exactly what they are,” Bodner said. “The dosage is not correct, they will be able to have more than they need to be, and we were able to see an overdose of the problem.”
The DEA said that it has seen, pharmacies will be targeted by looters in the past, but Bodner said that it is still too early to say whether or not that was the case in the Southern part of California, though, he said, is that there is no doubt that the drug traffickers have the tendency to take advantage if opportunities present themselves.
