The original Scream star Matthew Lillard saying that he will “absolutely” be available to reprise his role for the upcoming sequel Scream 5even if the prospect seems to be unlikely. In the original installment of the iconic horror franchise, Lillard’s memorable and played the role of Stu Macher, one of the two teenage boys turned out to be one of the masked Ghostface killers in the movie’s final. Those of you who have seen the Wes Craven classic, can’t forget the wheel of a car and is killed at the end of Neve Campbell ‘ s final girl, Sidney Prescott, but that hasn’t stopped Lillard from the holding company, hoping to re-create the Scream of the series.
Recently spoke with TooFab about the Scream franchise, Lillard was asked if he would be open to be appearing in the upcoming fifth film. “Yes, yes, yes, yes, I’m available, yes, yes, yes!!!” Lillard responds, clearly excited about the opportunity. “There is no one who doesn’t want to have to come back and reprise a role that they need to do, as if she were a boy, and to be able to have something else to do, as a man, it would be very exciting. You just don’t get that opportunity very often,” he added. Still, even admitting that he “can’t imagine that’s the way they’re going,” Lillard makes it clear that the Employee be put back in Scream 5 it is most likely not going to happen.
Of course, to bring back Matthew Lillard as Stu, it would be a huge creative challenges to the filmmakers as it would have to be interpreted as meaning that the character has to survive to get slapped in the face, and electrocuted by a tv set in the first film. Stranger things have certainly happened in the horror franchises, but it’s still a tough pill to swallow for old fans of the series. If we look at how David Gordon Green’s Halloween the reboot retconned the ending of John Carpenter’s original film, we also have to acknowledge the possibility that the Scream 5 you can change the end of the first Scream the news that a Study had found her.
In a strange way, the idea of the Stu, back in the Scream series in this manner, is actually considered to be by Wes Craven many years ago. Digging a little deeper into the behind-the-scenes history of the Scream “franchise, Lillard has already said that it is a genuine treat for the Scream 3 including a twist to the end of the Study to control for the murders from his prison, and will also reveal the character to have survived the initial Scream. As Students, it would have to be with the help of high-schoolers to perform at the time of ordering the murders, and the concept of it was completely wrecked after the events of the Columbine massacre. This has led to a complete rewrite of the Scream 3 the concept, thus allowing Students to return home on the cutting room floor.
A different way to celebrate Stu’s for Scream 5 would have to be in order to finally bring the story into the realm of the paranormal and, in a departure from previous entries in the series. Maybe Ghostface is revealed by a zombie, Stu’s face? As entertaining as that might be, it seems to be improbable, having regard to Neve Campbell’s insistence that the film-makers are looking to the Wes Craven, and the Scream franchise to be proud of. For her part, Campbell has also confirmed that she has spoken with the producers about coming on in the film, and David Arquette has said that he would be returning if ‘ Questions, as well.
