ATWATER VILLAGE (CBSLA) — Hugo’s tacos in Atwater Village has decided to close temporarily after it said its employees have received push-back from the customers and refuse to honor the mask mandate.
A sign posted on the window, which stated in part:
“Our Taco stands have been depleted by the ongoing conflict about the guests refusing to wear masks. Staff members have been harassed, called a numerous names, and it had objects and liquids were thrown at them.”
The announcement went on to say that it would be “taking a break to recharge, but other locations would remain open.
Hugo’s tacos is the latest entity to experience the reaction of the customers about the mask of office.
On Saturday, a shopper at a North Hollywood Trader Joe’s, it is filmed with an angry outburst, after been told that the wearing of a mask in the store. The incident was captured on cell phone video and widely shared on social media, garnering more than seven million views as of Saturday night.
Right now, 31 states do not have the mandate of the people to wear face masks when out in public, with 19 states, including California, do.
